Fr. Roten is a renowned Marian scholar and former student of Pope Benedict XVI who headed the International Marian Research Institute/Marian Library at the University of Dayton and is currently the Director of Research and Special Projects at the University.
Fr. Roten served on a Vatican-appointed commission about Mary in the 1990s. Swiss by birth, Roten speaks English, French, German, Swiss-German, Italian, Spanish, Dutch, Latin and Greek. He has been quoted in The New York Times, Newsweek, The Wall Street Journal, The Associated Press, The Washington Post, Denver Post and The Dallas Morning News among others.
